SPANIEL FIELD TRIAL 2019

Results for our Field Trials are now available on the results section of our website.

Congratulations and well done Steve Erasmus on your first season as Spaniel FT Secretary.  It isn't always easy juggling work commitments and sporting commitments, but to take on both roles for working tests and field trials on behalf of the club, I think it is fair to say that you have settled quickly into the role and have done a fantastic job this year.

A huge thank you to Colin Markey at the Riverside Shoot for continuing to provide excellent trialling opportunities for our competitor, to the teams of Guns who ensure the birds are available for the retrieve, to our sponsors - BASC and Skinners, Jane Stenner for her role as Chief Steward, to our helpers who willingly volunteered to carry game, the red flag or any other task asked of them.  Thank you to Sonja for all her 'behind the scenes' work and to Trudy for her efficiency in updating the website and publishing our results on social media, ensuring that our members are kept informed.

We have had another successful season and look forward to what 2020 has in store for us.

Kind Regards

Usk Valley Committee and Officers

Spaniel Trials 2016

It seems like only yesterday as a committee we were planning the spaniel field trials that "will be with us in 9 months time".  In a blink of an eye, both novice and open events have taken place and we're coming to the close of the Usk Valley trialling season.  The success of our events couldn't have been possible without the time and dedication from many people involved and it goes without saying that we firstly need to thank our Field Trial Secretary, Mrs Debra Bird.  Behind Debra we've been fortunate to have the support of Colin Markey and his team of guns, who continue to provide stunning scenery and great opportunities for our competitors to trial their dogs.  Thank you to our judges, stewards, caterers, game carriers, committee members and all those that help ensure the day runs smoothly.  Thank you to our sponsors, Skinners and finally thank you to all our competitors and spectators that continue to enter the trials and enable Usk Valley to put on these events for you.

Following the success of using Fosse Data this year, we will continue to use this system for future field trial entries.  We will still accept paper entries for those that prefer this entry method.  To enter via Fosse Data, please click here

We wish you all the very best for the rest of your season,

Usk Valley WGC Committee

FULL RESULTS FOR NOVICE (AV) FIELD TRIAL HELD ON WEDNESDAY 12TH OCTOBER and OPEN (ESS) FIELD TRIAL HELD ON WEDNESDAY 19TH OCTOBER ARE NOW AVAILABLE ON OUR RESULTS PAGE.

Spaniel Trials 2015

Thank you to Mrs Debra Bird, Spaniel Field Trial Secretary for coordinating the our trials for this season and Mr Johnny Morris who supported with the running of the days.  Thank you to Mrs Debra Bird and Mrs Trudy Hillier for supporting with the administration behind the scenes.

A special thank you to Mr Colin Markey of The Riverside Shoot, Sedbury, for providing two fantastic Spaniel trialling days for Usk Valley.  Every year Colin, Sean and the team of guns and beaters who provide great grounds, testing opportunities and good company.  Without the hard work and coordination of the team, Usk Valley would not be able to provide these trialling events.

Thank you to our judges, stewards, game carriers, caterers and all those that supported the club, enabling us to continue running successful and well supported trialling events.

We wish you a very successful shooting season and look forward to welcoming you back next year.

Kind regards

Usk Valley Working Gundog Club Committee
